Setting the Wheel in Motion

The Empty Robot

The teacher speaks.

“Whatever is subject to origination is all subject to cessation.”

“This is truth of suffering. Birth is suffering, aging is suffering, sickness is suffering, and death is suffering. What is unpleasant is suffering, separation from what is pleasing is suffering, and not getting what one wants is suffering. That which is subject to clinging is suffering.”

“This is the truth of the cause of suffering. The cause of suffering is this craving which leads to re-becoming, accompanied by delight and lust, seeking delight here and there. That is, the cause of suffering is craving for sensual pleasures, craving for existence and craving for non-existence.”

“This is the truth of the end of suffering. The end of suffering is the remainder-less fading away and cessation of that same craving, the giving up and relinquishing of it, freedom from it, non-reliance on it.”

“This is the truth of The Path leading to the end of suffering. The Path is right understanding, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness and right concentration.”

The robot hears this and practices in accordance.
