SN.45.166. Khilasutta ("Kinds of Barrenness")

Saṁyutta Nikāya ("The Linked Discourses")

The noble eightfold path should be developed for the direct knowledge, complete understanding, finishing, and giving up of these three kinds of barrenness.”
